Minecraft 1.26 Changelog: What’s New in Every 1.26 Build
The Minecraft 1.26 changelog spans several drops: a testing cycle, a content drop, a visuals update, and a fixes build. If you are trying to work out which build has which feature — or whether updating is worth it — this page tracks the whole 1.26 line in order, from the early 26.40 testing builds to the current 1.26.60.30 build. Want the file itself? Get it from the Minecraft Download page or read the per-version page for Minecraft 1.26.60.30 APK. For older builds, see the Old Versions hub. How to read this page: Mojang’s 2026 numbering is year-based (26.40, 26.50, 26.52, 26.60) while mod builds use the 1.26.x form (1.26.40, 1.26.50, 1.26.60.30). They refer to the same release line — this page uses both so you can match any source.
1.26.60.30 — Fixes Build (Current)
The current build. A fixes-first release with no new content: Touch-control stutter fixed — the visual stutter tied to touch controls is sorted out, the change most Android players notice. Add-on achievements restored — if add-ons wrongly switched achievements off in a world, they come back on the first session in that world after this update. Faster, more reliable Realms uploads — shorter waits and fewer retries when moving a world to a Realm. Test-build status — 1.26.60.30 comes from the beta/test line. Stable enough for everyday single-player play, but it is a polish release, not a content drop.
1.26.52 Line — Dream It, Build It!
The visuals and multiplayer update: Vibrant Visuals — directional lighting, volumetric fog, and pixel-perfect shadows you can toggle in video settings. Needs a mid-range GPU; turn it off on low-end phones (see Minecraft APK for Low-End Phones). Happy Ghast family — find a Dryghast block in the Nether, place it near water to rehydrate it, feed it snowballs to grow it into a Ghastling, then into a Happy Ghast you can fly with up to 4 players. Multiplayer locator bar — shows friends’ direction, distance, and elevation with coloured heads. 26.52 hotfix items — achievements restored for worlds using Marketplace add-ons, an iOS launch fix, and an inventory visibility fix.
1.26.50 — Wilderness Bound (The Content Drop)
The big content drop of the line: Dappled Forest biome — a new biome with poplar trees in three leaf colours, generating near cold biomes. Abandoned Camps — camps across eighteen biomes, each with its own design. Chests and barrels hold loot; camp chests can hold Explorer Maps pointing to an Ancient City, Mineshaft, Desert Pyramid, or Warm Ocean Ruins. Straw beds — three hay bales craft four straw beds. Each lets you sleep through one night without touching your spawn point, then breaks. Cushions — three matching wool slabs turn any flat surface into a seat. Concrete stairs and slabs — a stonecutter can now cut concrete into stair and slab shapes, in all 16 colours. Poplar wood set — full Poplar wood set from the new trees; Poplar leaves smelt into Leaf Litter in a furnace. Mobile polish — fixes for stuttering during long sessions, a network-address crash on Android, touch areas in windowed modes like Samsung DeX, and worlds keeping items on reload.
1.26.40 — Testing Cycle and Stability
The cycle that built toward Wilderness Bound: Third-drop content in testing — the Dappled Forest, Abandoned Camps, and Poplar content sat behind the experimental toggle while being tested across eight rounds of fixes. Sulfur Cubes reworked — Sulfur Cubes, arrow damage, and Texture Streaming were reworked across the whole game; arrow damage became velocity-based. Stability — gameplay, graphics, and technical fixes gathered into the stable release at the end of the cycle.
What Should You Install?
Most players: the current build, 1.26.60.30 — it includes all of the above content plus the latest fixes. Get it from the Minecraft Download page. Low-end phones: the same build, but with the tuned settings in Minecraft APK for Low-End Phones (Vibrant Visuals off, render distance 6–8 chunks). Old worlds: back up first, then update. Worlds from the same line carry forward; see the Old Versions hub for the full archive.
The 26.60 Beta Builds (26.60.24 and 26.60.29)
Between the 26.52 drop and the 1.26.60.30 fixes build, two test builds landed: 26.60.24 — pet healing (tamed baby mobs that take damage can be healed with food), fewer crashes, custom skins no longer snapping back to the default on relaunch, fog and menu fixes, and faster Realm member management with search on the Members screen. 26.60.29 (Drop 4 test build, Ice Caves) — experimental ice content: Icicles that fall when an area is brightened, Frostbite mobs that throw Ice Balls and apply Freezing (leather armour protects against the freezing itself), zombies and husks in Powder Snow becoming Frostbites, plus fixes for pausing during dimension transfers, sound sync after pausing, and fog in front of water. Why this matters: if a video or guide mentions “Ice Caves” or “Frostbites”, it is talking about the 26.60.29 test build’s experimental content — not the 1.26.60.30 release.
What 1.26 Means for Mod Players
Mod menus must be rebuilt per base build. That is why a Mod Menu that worked on 1.26.50 can break on a newer base APK until the mod is rebuilt against it. Add-ons and Marketplace packs track the line. Worlds using Marketplace add-ons had achievements wrongly switched off in earlier 1.26 builds; 1.26.60.30 restores them on first load. Performance is part of the changelog. The 1.26 line’s fixes repeatedly target stuttering, long-session slowdowns, and world-reload issues — which is why updating is worth it even for a “fixes-only” build.
